The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to foster mutual respect, appreciation, and value for all members of the community—and to encourage safe, fun, and responsible dancing and social interaction.

Code of Conduct

• I recognize that I am a valued member of this dance community.
• I will respect physical and personal boundaries—both on and off the dance floor.
• I will treat fellow dancers with kindness, regardless of age, gender, background, nationality, race, or lifestyle.
• I will be aware of shared space. If I accidentally bump into another dancer, I’ll be gracious and apologize.
• I may accept or politely decline dances for any reason, and I will respect others who do the same.
• I will avoid attempting dangerous dance moves that may harm myself, my partner, or others nearby.
• I will refrain from giving unsolicited feedback or instruction on the social dance floor.
• I will maintain good hygiene.
• I will look out for my safety and the safety of others. If I witness or experience inappropriate behavior, I will report it to a Dance N Play representative (see grievance policy below).
• I will clean up after myself, respect the instructors, staff, and venue, and follow all applicable laws and venue rules.
• I will share positive feedback openly. If I choose to give critical feedback, I’ll do so privately and respectfully.

Grievance Policy

Dance N Play is committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and will be addressed fairly and thoughtfully, with care for all involved.

If you have a concern:

1. If safe to do so, speak directly and respectfully to the person involved.
2. If unresolved or uncomfortable, seek help from any Dance N Play staff member.
3. For serious offenses, report immediately to a staff member and/or call 911 for emergency support.

We will listen, document if needed, and take action to the best of our ability. This may include mediation, removal from the event, contacting security or police, or denial of entry to future events.

Please note:

• Dance N Play does not condone gossip, slander, or defamation, and will not take action based solely on unverified third-party accounts.
• Reports are handled with discretion, though confidentiality may limit our ability to act in some cases.
